Tour-Staff: freelance moderator for environmental education events at schools in Hungary for GUSB21 and MTVSZ
GUSB21: is an international non-governmental Organization located in Hamburg, Germany. Our goal is promotion of political and social education of young people. GUSB21 plans and organizes educational events for schools about important topics concerning ecology, democracy and human rights.
MTVSZ: Magyar Természetvédők Szövetsége (MTVSZ) is a member of Friends of the Earth International. The organization's main concern is to promote the adoption of sound public policies for the environment and for sustainable development.
REdUSE: “Reducing Resource Use in Europe” is an international project in co-operation of the Austrian, Hungarian, Italian and Czech member groups of the Friends of the Earth international environmental network. Within the REdUSE project, GUSB21 produced a 45 minutes educational movie on the excessive consumption of materials like lithium (mobile phones), aluminium (cans) and cotton (clothes). This movie will be presented for young audience (14-18 years) with an interactive show aiming to make a change in minds and promoting healthier consumption habits for which a good moderator is needed! In Hungary we plan to organize 20-40 events. (The events are under organization at the moment.) The first one is planned to be in May and the whole project should be finished in June, 2013.
Your Job:
- Your main responsibility will be to present and moderate the events on topics like environmental sustainability and resource conservation for our REdUSE campaign.
- On the day of the event you will be the contact person at schools for teachers, clients, partners and sponsors on site and coordinate the stakeholders.
- You will be responsible for the workflow at schools.
- Together with one technical staff (German) you will do the technical set-up on site.
- You will make travel arrangements for public transport and accommodation in coordination with technical staff.
Qualifications:
- You are familiar with and like to raise awareness on ecological and social political topics.
- You are used to and like to interact with young people.
- You have a positive communication style and motivating skills.
- You are native Hungarian speaker with good command of English or German.
- Ecological, economical and social sustainability is a personal concern to you.
- You have experience in performing for large audiences.
- You are highly motivated and have good social skills.
- You are willing to travel around Hungary in weekly periods.
- You are used to work independently, proactively and have a strong self-organizing ability.
- You hold a drivers license.
